You must be thinking, wow—there’s probably TONS of research on women’s mental health, right? Eh, not so much. Research on women’s mental health specifically is seriously lacking or insanely outdated.

We need to understand what is going on with women right now so we can support them today.

What makes them wake up at 2:00 AM with racing thoughts? Caring for loved ones on top of a full-time job? Fretting over protein intake? Feeling threatened in her community? Financial instability (how is daycare so expensive, anyway)? The existential dread of even having a biological clock? We gotta get more answers.

Digging in with SeekHer Foundation

Research is just one reason why OLLY has partnered with SeekHer Foundation for the last 3 years. They use part of OLLY’s funding to publish their annual Shift Report—a survey that polls 2,300+ women in the United States to understand what shapes their well-being, what hinders it and what it takes to move forward. In other words, what exactly is causing the invisible mental load to explode (spoiler alert, protein ain’t it). The report is truly so much more than data, it’s a real-time look at what women face on the daily. Check out this year’s report here—it’s free for everyone and quite the page turner.

SeekHer Foundation does so much more than annual research. They create community-driven initiatives so women can get the help they need. We’re talking about organizing advocacy councils for adults and youth. They call on leaders and organizations to create supportive environments that foster open dialogue and empower women (call ‘em out, let’s go!). Plus, they host tons of workshops and events to get people involved IRL.

Lucky for us, everything SeekHer does for women aligns with our mission of destigmatizing mental health. You could say we’re a match made in mental health heaven—and the gratitude is mutual.

Neglecting women's well-being hinders progress. Uplifting their voices unlocks it.

We can’t spill all the beans just yet, but there will certainly be more ways to get involved on the horizon—and we cannot wait to share them with you.
